Pukchang (Pukch'ang kun) is a county of the province of South Pyongan in North Korea.
In this county is the country's largest power station- Pukchang coal power station - with a production capacity of up to 1600 MW.

The district is split into one ŭp (village), nine rodongjagu (worker districts) and 20 ri (towns).
Political Prison Camp No. 18 is a large prison labor colony in the western part of the county at the banks of Taedong River. Many of the 50000 prisoners are forced to work in coal mines.[2]
