Ptinus tectus Boieldieu, 1856 |
Ptinus tectus is a species of beetles in the genus Ptinus of the family Ptinidae[1], or family Anobiidae, subfamily Ptininae [2].
Ptinus tectus Boieldieu is the name used for this species outside North Ammerica. However, under article 72C(e) of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, the valid name for the Australian spider beetle is Ptinus ocellus Brown, 1929. However many works still state Ptinus tectus as the valid name.
