Pseudupeneus known as Goatfishes is tropical-subtropical marine genus of perciform fish of the family Mullidae. Occurs mainly in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific.[2] These fish inhabit mainly the coastal waters of continental shelfs, but can be found in deep waters as well. 3 species are recognized.
