Protopteryx is an extinct genus of bird, perhaps an enantiornithine, from the Cretaceous in China. The type species is P. fengningensis.[1] It was found in the Sichakou Member of the Huajiying Formation of Hebei Province, China[2] and so dates to 131 Ma ago.[3]
