Profundulidae is a family of teleost fish endemic to Mexico, Guatemala and other countries of Central America.[1] This family is monotypic with only a single genus, Profundulus. This family contains six species.[2]
Members of this family are found in the Pacific and Atlantic slopes of Central America in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.[5]
