Dr. Pritam Singh (born in Mirjapur district, Uttar Pradesh on 19th Nov 1941) has spent his entire life tirelessly doing what he does best-awakening students, academia, Corporate Leaders and Policy Makers to raise their excellence to next levels.

Dr. Pritam Singh was born in Pandeypur in Mirjapur district of Uttar Pradesh on 19th Nov 1941. He did his Masters in Commerce from famous Banaras Hindu University, post which he went abroad to do his MBA from United States. Dr. Pritam Singh joined International Management Institute (IMI), Delhi as Director General in April 2011. In this short span only, the signs are loud and clear. The rankings across different publications and agencies has seen a rapid jump, with AIMA putting the institute in SUPER LEAGUE category and BUSINESS WORLD ranking IMI as 3rd in INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL. The students’ perception also saw a clear difference, with the number of applications going up by about 50% in a single year.
As an academic administrator, Dr. Pritam Singh has an unparalleled record. With his entrepreneurial vision and path breaking innovative methods, Dr. Pritam Singh turnaround the fortunes of both MDI (where he was director 1994-1998 & 2003-2006) and IIM Lucknow(1998-2003) and quite fittingly people across the spectrum call him a Midas touch Director. As a board-member of more than 50 reputed public and private sector companies, he has been pioneer in helping them chart a winner Corporate Strategy and initiate the Change process. Having worked with more than 200 CEOs in India and abroad as a consultant, he has conducted more than 100 retreats for top management of various organizations, including many MNCs. No wonder, he is regarded as the Guru, the Trainer, the Coach and the Counsellor at the board and top management level in Indian Corporate World. In what is known as a fitting tribute to this Change Maestro, it was he whom Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi entrusted with the distinction of organizing and directing the first retreat of the Central Ministers as part of latter’s initiative to develop ministers as Transformational Leaders and Change masters.
In December 2006, MIRBIS-the leading management school in Moscow, honoured him as ‘GLOBAL THOUGHT LEADER’ 2006- 2007. He was not just the first Indian, but also the first Asian to have walked on this global hall of fame. A thought leader with extraordinary insight, Dr. Singh is the author of seven academically reputed books, three of which have won laurels at many different forums . His distinguished services were acknowledged by the country when the President of India conferred on him the prestigious ‘Padam Shri’ in year 2003. It was for the first time that any Professor and a serving Director in India received this coveted award in the field of management education.
