Approximately 400,000 properties, including 230,000 UK properties to buy and 60,000 UK properties to rent are listed on Primelocation.com. Also listed are an approximate 100,000 international properties for sale and to rent in 60 countries throughout Europe, Africa, America and Oceania. Primelocation.com publishes a monthly Prime Property Prices Index that provides information on house price trends in the UK. There is an International Prime Property Search Index published bi-monthly.
In December 2009, Primelocation.com launched a property blog awards to recognise the talent of property bloggers[2].
Nominations were accepted in four categories: best blog, best blog post, best newcomer and users’ favourite. Winners of “the users’ favourite” category were determined by a public vote, whereas the remaining three winners were chosen by judges.
In January 2006, Primelocation.com was purchased for £48m by the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) and is part of the property portfolio of Associated Northcliffe Digital, the group’s digital consumer division[3]. One of the UK’s largest media companies, the Daily Mail and General Trust also owns the property portal FindaProperty.com.
