Prenanthes is a genus of plants in the family Asteraceae, often referred to as Rattlesnake root. It consists of about 25 to 30 species, native to North America, Asia, and Africa.[1] Most species have flowers that nod (bend over and point downwards) and lobed leaves.[1] The genus, as defined this way, may be polyphyletic.[1]
The flowers are white, yellow, or pink.[1]
