Thanpuying Poonsuk Banomyong (Thai: ท่านผู้หญิงพูนศุข พนมยงค์, January 2, 1913[1]–May 12, 2007) is the wife of former Thai Prime Minister Pridi Banomyong. In November 1952 Poonsuk was arrested on charges of subversion under the government of Plaek Pibulsonggram and was held in custody until February, 1953, and subsequently joined her husband in exile in China thereafter.
Poonsuk returned to Thailand from Paris in 1986, and died on May 12, 2007.
Poonsuk's great-grandmother, Boonma, was the sister of Pin, who happened to be the great-grandmother of her husband Pridi. It was known that the sisters had two other sisters among them. Their parents, Kroen and Kaew, were of indigenous Thai extraction.[2]
Together with Pridi she had six children: Lalida, Parl, Suda, Sukprida, Dusadee and Wani.[3]
