Pokémon The Park 2005 or PokéPark (ポケパーク PokePāku ) was a traveling Japanese theme park based on the Pokémon franchise. It has existed in two locations previously, both currently closed. It was in Japan in 2005, and in Taiwan in 2006. There has been a talk about Poképark coming to the USA, possibly Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, or to Europe, in Berlin, Germany. There was a rumor that a new Poképark would be built in Richmond, Virginia during the Summer of 2008 until a Mailbag response on Pokémon.com [1] recently denied the rumor, stating that you "can't trust everything you see on the web";[2] King's Dominion representative Drew Peacoch said, "[w]e are looking very closely at Pokepark, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Pokepark come to Kings Dominion in the near future". The theme park featured twelve Pokémon-themed attractions, and was open between March 18, 2005, and September 25, 2005, in Japan, and from June 23, 2006, to September 24, 2006, in Taiwan.
There was also a Lucario and the Mystery of Mew promotion, and an attraction based on the movie. At the end of every attraction a free TCG promo card was given out. A prize was also given out to visitors who went on all of the park's rides.
The Pokémon Game Corner tested trainers with their skills in order to win prizes unobtainable in any Pokémon Center shops.
A restaurant known as "Meowth's Party Café" could also be visited. Every guest that made a food purchase got a drink coaster featuring some of the characters, such as the Pichu Bros.
There were two Rocket Pokémon Shops located throughout the park. These shops had accessories for Pokémon fans and items such as Pokémon headgear, T-shirts, postcards, and official PokéPark souvenirs.
Among other exclusive items, like hats, plush toys, and downloadable mini-games, these prizes were given away:
