Poissy is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris 23.8 km (14.8 mi) from the center.
In 1561 it was the site of a fruitless Catholic-Huguenot conference, the Colloquy at Poissy. It is known for hosting successively Automobiles Gregoire, Matford, Ford SAF, Simca, Chrysler, Talbot factories, now one of France's largest Peugeot factories. Inhabitants are called Pisciacais.

Poissy is served by Poissy station on Paris RER line A and on the Transilien Paris – Saint-Lazare suburban rail line.
Technoparc is a district with economic vocation created in 1990, intended to facilitate the economic diversification of the city; occupying twenty seven hectares in the northeast of the PSA Peugeot Citroën factory, on the verge of the vommune of Achères. He welcomes hundred fifty companies employing 2000 employees. The Charles-de-Gaulle high school and the training center of the employees in pharmacy (ACPPAV) teach 1500 high school students and students. We find there among others two business incubator, a heliport, the Chambre de Commerce Yvelines-Val d'Oise, two hotels, a gymnasium and a municipal technical center.
