Point Of Origin is the first studio album by the alternative metal band Allele. The album was released on October 25, 2005. The line-up of this album features guitarist Kelly Hayes and original vocalist Wally Wood. The album was produced by Ben Schigel, vocalist for the Ohio Nu metal music group Switched. The album spawned two singles, "Closer to Habit" and "Stitches".
By early 2006, the album had shifted 2,500 copies. However, recent estimates have shown that sales have now exceeded 150,000 copies.
Recording and production
The album was recorded at Cleveland's Spider Studios with producer Ben Schigel (Chimaira, Drowning Pool, Breaking Point). Wood, who aided in the album's production, said Schigel and Allele's record label gave the band a lot of creative freedom. "He had a lot of great ideas on the vocal stuff. He was easy to work with. He wasn't like, 'It's going to be my way or the highway because I'm the producer,'" Wood said.[9]
