Podili is a Town and a Mandal in Prakasam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1] Before British Rule its name was Prudhulapuri, meaning Head Quarters of the Universe, there is Purana reference to this related to Prudhu Chakravarthi.The town is recognised as major panchayati by govt of AndhraPradesh.

In podili new area VISWANADHA PURAM established by viswanadha sarma.o. He worked as a heriditary karanam(village administrator).During his period he encourage the people to settle in viswanadhapuram(usaually called as v.n.puram).villagers established a statue in bustand centerfor his work.The statue was recently renovated and Reopened on ugadi 2010 by

Podili was an assembly constancy till 1978. From 1978 this was abolished. Now, podili limits rapidly expands with people coming from nearest villages such as Marripudi, Kuchipudi,Konakanamitla....

About PODILI KONDA(PRUDULAGIRI):

Nirmamaheswara swami (Lord Siva) temple is a very old and famous temple in Podili. Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Thirunalla at Podili Hills (It was known as Prudhulagiri and also called Podilikonda) is famous.Thirunalla happens in summer season. There are multiple ways to reach Podilikonda. One is by road (from podili 5 km. And another is on foot (from Marripudi 6 km).Recently ghat road build from marripudi to the holy hill.

The great Nayani Subbarao of Janmaboomi Book written with Telugu grammar compositions (Prescribed for IAS and Osmania University M.A(telugu) Author is born here.

Nearest railway station is Donakonda. Donkonda is on Guntakal-Guntur line. Ongole is the District Capital and nearer Railway station which is on Chennai-Vijayawada main line.

This town is well connected by State Road Transport Corporation. It has a APSRTC Depot.

The Mahasivaratri festival is celebrated grandly with Chariot procession.
