Pliauchenia is an extinct genus of terrestrial herbivore the family Camelidae, endemic to North America during the Miocene 13.6—5.330 mya, existing for approximately 8.27 million years.[1]
Pliauchenia was named by Cope (1875) [called into question by Patton 1969a]. Its type is Pliauchenia humphreysiana. It was assigned to Camelidae by Cope (1875) and Carroll (1988).[2]
Fossil distribution ranged from Nebraska to California.
