Pletzel

Pletzel or Pletzl (Yiddish פלעצל, German Plätzchen, cookie or cracker), a traditional Jewish specialty, is an onion and seed covered, focaccia-like flatbread.[1] The dough for pletzel resembles challah dough, but it is rolled very thin and is not allowed to rise.[2]

Pletzl, from German Plätzchen, little square, is also the name of the center of the former Jewish quarter in Paris, France.
