Planina is a village in the hills to the south of the Vipava Valley on the border with the Kras Plateauin the Ajdovščina Municipality in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is made up of smaller clusters of settlements of Štrancarji, Marci, Dolenja vas, Brithi, Gorenja vas and Koboli.[2]
The Parish Church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Cantius and belongs to the Koper Diocese. A second church, belonging to the Parish is built on a hill to the south of the main settlemet and is dedicated to Saint Paul.[3]
