Pixham is a village in Surrey located approximately 1 km (0.6 mi) north east of Dorking at the confluence of the River Mole and the Pipp Brook.
No mention is made of Pixham in Domesday Book, but evidence of Roman occupation, including coins, tiles and pottery shards, was discovered on the site of the Friends Provident Sports Ground in 1980. The first use of the name Pixham comes from a Manor Court Roll of 1417.[1]
The parish church of St Mary, located in the centre of the village, was built by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1903.[2]
