Pivola is a settlement in the Hoče-Slivnica municipality in northeastern Slovenia. It lies on the eastern edge o the Pohorje hills to the south of Maribor. The municipality is now included in the Drava statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to the Saint Leonard and belongs to the Hoče parish. It was built in 1642.[3]
Hompoš Castle is a castle just north of the settlement. It is first mentioned in written documents dating to the 12th century and has had numerous rebuildings and adaptations over the centuries.[4]
