Pitobash (Oriya: ପୀତବାସ) is a Hindi film actor, originally from the state of Orissa,[1] India. He is well-known for his role in the movies I Am Kalam and Shor in the City.

Pitobash[2] was born in a small village Deuli in Nayagarh, Orissa to an Oriya Hindu Brahmin family. He was brought up in Bhubaneswar where he received his education till 12th. He was educated in Govt. high school, Bhubaneswar till 10th. Then finished his 12th from B.J.B. College, Bhubaneswar.[3] He is a Bachelor of Technology degree holder passed out in 2005 from Government college of Engineering & Leather Technology in Leather Technology from Kolkata. He has done his diploma in acting from Film and Television Institute of India,[4][5] Pune in 2007, then joined the film Industry in Mumbai.[6]
Coming from a middle class family where both his parents were state government employee pitobash dreamed of this acting career. He is always fascinated towards cinema and from his childhood he wanted to be an actor only. At the age of 12 he got National Balshree Award from the president of India in the field of creative performance, which worked as a huge inspiration to follow his dream. Along with his engineering studies he did theatre in Kolkata with eminent theatre personality like Shantanu Bose who is now a faculty in National School of Drama, Delhi.
He started his career in Bollywood with 99.[7] He then appeared in the super hit movie 3 Idiots. But people noticed him in the movie I Am Kalam with Gulshan Grover directed by Nila Madhab Panda and Shor in the City[8][9][10] with Tushar Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi. He also acted in the movie Mirch in five different roles. His upcoming movies are Joker with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha by Shirish Kunder and Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai.[11]
