Until 2007, Pipestone Area had never won a state championship as a team; however, many individuals have been awarded state championships from Pipestone. Then, on March 18, 2007, the Pipestone Area girls' basketball team defeated the Albany Huskies 50-49 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the Minnesota State High School League Class AA state championship[2] to earn the school's first ever team title. This seemingly opened the floodgates for Pipestone Area, as the Arrow softball team won a state title in the Class AA state fastpitch softball tournament, with a 1-0, 17-inning, victory over Saint Anthony Village High School. The Arrows have been in four other state championship games:
Football - 1980 (loss to Crookston High School, 32-6, in Crookston, Minnesota)
