Pileru or Piler (పీలేరు) is a town, Mandal and a Major panchayat and Legislative Assembly constituency in Chittoor district the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.[1] Pileru and its surroundings are famous for Agriculture...and it is located on junction of the National Highways (NH 18 and NH 205).

Piler town has more than 60 thousands of population.

Town got the name as Pileru because of the river (Pilla Eru- small water stream in English). Pileru passes through this and it finally reaches the Pincha Dam. Piler has multidivisional culture and Telugu language accent, because it is a center point to 2 neighbouring states Karnataka (KA), Tamil Nadu(TN). Easily accessible to big cities like Chennai and Banglore. Piler is having a big role in terms of agriculture, education, commercial and political. Groundnut is one of the major commercial crops in this region.

Rail

Pileru has a railway station on the Tirupathi-Pakala-Guntakal line. Now two trains are running this station one TPTY SC EXP runs between Tirupati and Secunderabad, and second Tirupati Guntakal Pass runs between Tirupati and Guntakal. More trains will run on this route soon.

Road

Pileru is well connected with all the places within the state and other parts of the country also. The state transport corporation run buses to all the important tourist places. One of the surprising thing is that Geographycally PILER is equal distance to Tirupathi, Chittoor, Madanapalli and Rayachoty with 56 KM.
