Phyllomedusinae

Phyllomedusinae is a subfamily of Hylidae, the tree frogs. Commonly called leaf frogs, they are found in the Neotropics. The type genus Phyllomedusa contains more thean half of the known species within this subfamily.

Taxonomy

Subfamily Phyllomedusinae contains the following genera:

• Agalychnis (6 species)
• Cruziohyla (2 species, formerly in Agalychnis)
• Hylomantis – rough leaf frogs (8 species)
• Pachymedusa – Mexican Leaf Frog
• Phasmahyla – shining leaf frogs (7 species)
• Phrynomedusa – colored leaf frogs (4 living species, 1 recently extinct)
• Phyllomedusa (30 species)
