Phularwan is located on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway (M2) at the Salam interchange in Sargodha District. The town's importance increased due to the motorway passing near Phularwan. The main problem in Phularwan is its sewerage system. A nalah passes through the city, and has polluted the whole city.
As in the broader subcontinent, this city suffers from a two nation problem. People of this city are of two types: Punjabi (called local people), and Rajpoot & Rana's & Rao's (called Mahajir). Members of each group blame the other for the city's economic problems.
