Phthona is a genus of biting flies in the family of louse flies, Hippoboscidae. There are 3 known species.[1] All are parasite of falconets of the genus Microhierax.[2]

Distribution

All species are found in South East Asia.[2]

Hosts

They found on the genus Microhierax. Collared Falconet (Microhierax caerulescens), Philippine Falconet (Microhierax erythrogenys) and The Pied Falconet (Microhierax melanoleucus)[2]
