Fernando Baptista Seixas Peyroteo (born March 10, 1918 in Humpata, Huíla, Angola – died Lisbon, November 28, 1978) was a Portuguese footballer.
He was a leading man as a forward both for the Portuguese national team and for Sporting, where he was a member of the legendary team Os Cinco Violinos (The Five Violins in Portuguese), with Jesus Correia, Manuel Vasques, Albano and Travassos. He has the best goals per game ratio in the history of football (1.6 to 1.7 goals per game).[2]
Family relationship
José Couceiro, manager of Portugal's Under-21 Team, is Peyroteo's grandnephew. António César de Vasconcelos Correia, 1st Viscount and 1st Count de Torres Novas and 93rd Governor of India, was his great-uncle. Augusto de Vasconcelos was his second cousin once removed.
His paternal grandfather was Spanish.
