Perumkadungo was the son of the last Chera Vendan (an undisputed paramount power from the Adi Chera Dynasty in the Tamil speaking country of South India during the first three centuries of Christian Era along with Pandia Vendan and Chola Vendan.) as per Pugalur Inscription. Ilam Kadunko was his son. Kadunko is a title, meaning the Kon (ruler) of Kadu Nadu. Kadunad was the part of Kongu country, and the territory was on the Banks of Noyal River, a tributary of River Cavery. Many of the Irumporai Chera Vendans ruled Kadu nadu as Kadunko during their early career.
