People's Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ), is a commercial bank in Tanzania. It is one of the 29 banks licensed by Bank of Tanzania, the national banking regulator.[2] It is a small, but growing financial institution, with total assets of over US$79 million and shareholder's equity in excess of US$10 million, as of December 2009.[3]

The bank was founded in 1966 by the Zanzibar government. It functions as a retail bank, serving individuals, small-to=medium businesses as well as large corporations. Its services are limited to the Zanzibar archipelago, including the neighboring island of Pemba.
Peoples Bank of Zanzibar is 100% owned by the Government of Zanzibar.
