Penteleu (cheese)

Penteleu or Caşcaval de Penteleu is the name of a Romanian cheese[1] made with sheep milk [2] from the region of Dobrogea.[3] It is a cheese made using the same process that caşcaval. The Penteleu is eaten as a simple cheese or it can be used to complement traditional Romanian dishes such as mamaliga.

In 2005, the European Union has granted a to Penteleu a Protected Geographical Status.
