Pernem (Konkani: पेडणें Peddnnem, pronounced [pɛːɽɳɛ̃ː]) is a city and a municipal council in North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa.
Pernem is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 47 metres (154 feet).
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Pernem had a population of 5285. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Pernem has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 70%. In Pernem, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
