Pedapulivarru

Pedapulivarru Telugu:పెదపులివఱ్ఱు is a small village, on the bank of Krishnamma - River Krishna, in Bhattiprolu Mandalam, Repalle Taluka, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh State, India. It is also called Vyagrapuram.(వ్యాఘ్ర ఫురం ) .

History

The salient feature of this village is that the Kalyanamantapams of the two famous temples (Vishnalayam & Shivalayam) face each other.The brief history of the Vishnalayam temple is, A saint use to go Kanchipauram temple very often to offer his pray. But once due to heavy rains, he was unable to go that place ,so he prayed the god for blessings. One day, to his fotune, God's idol has appeared in the Krishna river and asked in dream to build a temple for him.

Senior Samudrala, Ghantasala's wife Savitri belong to this village. Even Ghantasala, the famous playback singler is said to be hailing from this village. Kasinadhuni Viswanatham also known as Kalaa Tapaswi K.Viswanath also hails from this village.

Dr.Krishna Rao and their family constructed a large High school, Hospital, Bridge, Temples and so on. The people of Pedapulivarru will never forget their family.

On 18-Nov-2007, the people of Pedapulivarru have started a Welfare Association. The main aim of the Association is to help the poor and needy and old aged people.
