History

Peachtree Middle School was originally Peachtree High School (established 1968). After the high school was closed at the end of the 1987/88 academic year, Peachtree Junior High was opened to accommodate the population influx. After that it was named Peachtree Middle School The charter for the school was ratified by the school population in 2004, and renewed in 2007. After many years in the outdated building, construction began on a new building at a different location on the campus. Construction on the building began before the 2005–2006 school year. Construction ended just before the start of the 2007–2008 school year. The new building includes 3 stories, the top belonging to 8th graders, the middle to 7th, and the basement to 6th graders. On the middle floor, the band room, orchestra room, cafeteria, gym,and offices accompany the 7th grade classrooms.
