Paulownia kawakamii, commonly known as the sapphire dragon tree,[1] is a species of plant in the Paulowniaceae family. It is endemic to Taiwan, China, and Japan. It is threatened by habitat loss.[2]
It is sold as a landscape plant in Southern California, under claims that it is a deep-rooted tree that generally does not heave pavement.[3]
