Patoda is a tehsil in Beed subdivision of Beed district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Patoda is the one of the important taluka of the Beed district.Patoda is situated on banks of river Manjra,which is a tributary of river Godavari. Manjra originates near Patoda which is also known by the name Wanjara / Vanjara. Near Patoda, there is a famous place called Sautada, which has Rameshwar mandir. There is a small waterfall and rift supposedly created by God Rama by striking arrow there. Gahininath gad,hanuman gad,ashwaling (temple of kartik swami) are also famous religious places in patoda block. Every year Wamanbhau maharaj and bhagawan baba punyatihi celebrated inlarge scale. On every ekadashi bhajan,kirtan and religious cultural programmes are organised. Every year on the occasion of 3rd Shravani Somvar [Monday] there is religious fair in the valley.
Patoda is very cool place situated in harishchandra_balaghat ranges of sahyadri hills. The main source of income of most people is agriculture and concern agricultural activities.The taluka is famous for Black cottan soil i.e.Regur mati.In patoda small city there are two temple of maruti at eastside black Maruti, and westside of city lal Maruti. There is also two famous mahadev temples one is Sangmeshwar and another is Bhameshwar, from this Bhameshwar temple Patoda is also known as Bhameshwar_patoda in old days. There is medium Irrigation project at Mahasangavi near about 4k.m. away from patoda. And around patoda more than 3 minor and medium irrigation projects now. In patoda 2 senior colleges and more than 5 High schools. Residents of patoda are hard working, loyal and punchual. A lot of state govt officers,professors.scientist,advocates and social activists are belong from this taluka because of uncertainty of agricultural crops due rains, and agricultural dependace. Most of the area of this tahasil falls under drought pron area, so lot of people goes for the work in sugar factories as ustodikamgar(to cut sugarcanes crops),therefore this taluka is main supplier of ustodikamgar in states all important sugar factories. This taluka comes in the aasti_patoda vidhan sabha constituency.In This taluka peoples are too much politically awair and they are too much interested in politics.
Another importance of the this taluka is the three main rivers of the district and tributaries of Godavari river (i.e. ganga of south)originates in patoda tahasil i.e. Manjara, Bindusara, and Sindfana. In patoda local self government is govern by the Grampanchayat.
