Patiya (Bengali: পটিয়া) is an Upazila of Chittagong District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Patiya is located at . It has 70218 units of house hold and total area 316.47 km².
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Patiya has a population of 398836. Males constitute are 52.1% of the population, and females 47.9%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 197399. Patiya has an average literacy rate of 44.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]

Patiya has 25 Unions/Wards, 136 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 124 villages. The township of Patiya has an area of 9.96 km². It is divided into 9 wards and 9 mahallas.
During the British rule, a police station was established in Patiya in 1845. It was upgraded to an upazila in 1984. The region saw a lot of revolutionary activities in the 1930s, when revolutionaries from Jugantar and the fugitives of the Chittagong armoury raid fought with British police. During the Bangladesh Liberation War, the area sustained heavy bombings from Pakistan Air Force [2].
