Parihar is a clan which is part of many communities including Rajputs, Gurjars and Jats. According to the Handbook on Rajputs by famous British historian A. H. Bingley, the name Parihar is derived from the Sanskrit Parinara ("repelling") and is a Agnikula tribe.^[1][2]
