Pantego Christian Academy

Pantego Christian Academy (PCA) is a Christian school in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. Its main campus, the Arlington Campus, has a building at 2201 West Park Row Drive in Arlington and a 57,000-square-foot (5,300 m2) high school building at 2221 West Park Row Drive in Pantego.[1][2] The Arlington Campus covers grades pre-kindergarten through grade 12.[1] The system also operates the Mansfield Campus at 2351 Country Club Drive in Mansfield which will eventually teach from age 3 through grade 5.[3]

History

Pantego Bible Church opened the school in 1963. In 1996 the church and school began separate financial operations. Around 2008 Pantego Christian Academy bought the former Stripling & Cox building in Pantego to use as a high school building.

Athletics and Fine Arts

Pantego Christian Academy high school students participate in several sports, including football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf, tennis, and cheerleading. Pantego Christian Academy students compete with other schools in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools in the 4A division. The Pantego Christian Academy Band and the Pantego Christian Academy Art Team have won TAPPS state championships in the past three years: the band program in 2008 and 2009 and the art team in both 2007 and 2009. Their dance team, the Panther Pride Dance Team, has also won several contests over the past few years. The band acts as a Concert and Marching band both led by Director Ross Brown. Their past shows include Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin (06-07 Drum Major Sarah Jones),a Russian themed show featuring Russian Sailor's Dance, Hymn to Red October, and Firebird Finale (07-08 Drum Major Loralyn George),a Big Band show featuring Artistry in Rhythm, Caravan, and Sing,Sing,Sing (08-09 Drum Major Jacob Norwood), a Space Movie Epic show featuring E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, Across the Stars from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and Star Trek music from the original series and The Next Generation, and The Planets by Gustav Holst featuring Mars, Venus, and Jupiter (10-11 Drum Major Jeremy Owens)which received a division one rating at the TPSMEA marching contest. The PCA Panther Band will be doing music from the opera Carmen during the 2011-2012 school year under the field direction of Drum Major Jeremy Owens.

The trumpet section is the best section.
