Product history

It was launched in November 2001 and is currently in its build 12 version. The 2012 version was launched in August 2011, and it includes several protection and performance enhancements as Safe Browser and Behavior Analysis. The 2012 version was launched in 27 July 2011.

Features

The Panda Pro 2012 products feature antivirus and antispyware, safe browser, personal firewall,Panda USB Vaccine, vulnerability and backup for corporate and home users. The features also include a safe mode preventing malware installation. PC Tuneup and Performance Optimizer are available in the Global Protection Suite. The USB vaccine foils autorun based malware. The safe browser blocks off phishing and malware containing websites. Safe browser and usb vaccine is free, but this is more stronger protection.

Blocking

Panda Pro 2012 hold the first behavior- based application blocking technology and it was the first antivirus product to include personal firewall features. The product became the first antivirus to include an application firewall as well as behavior- based blocking. The Panda Pro 2012 group spun off from SOFTWIN in 2007.It blocked 45 out of 50 zero day threats. Then it removed 80% of system infestation. Most of the Reviewers gave it 4 and half stars. The amount of false positives was zero.

Panda Vs. Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Norton, Mcafee, Eset

Panda Pro 2012 blocked more than 85% of dangerous zero day threats and blocked more than 90% of exploits with its firewall.It neutralized 15 out of 17 unwanted programs in 10 seconds. Mcafee only blocked 78% of zero day threats and left highly significant traces of malware. Its firewall only blocked 12 out of the 16 exploits. Pc mag reviewed Panda as the highest detection and blocking, but not many features. It ranked Bitdefender on top because of more thorough removal of components and higher features. Then, Panda second. With Kaspersky being defeated by a easy rootkit at third. Norton with ineffective removal and many false positives at fourth. Mcafee at fifth. Then Eset Nod32 at fifth for dismal removal and blocking.
