Palamaner or Palmaner is one of the prominent towns of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Palamaner, a municipality in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 683 meters (2,244 ft).
Palamaner is very much preferred for its Climate which varies between 12-28 degrees all round the year, even in Summer Season which is very pleasant.Hence Palamaner is called the 'Poorman's Ooty of Andhra Pradesh' and preferred Summer spot from the British times itself.
Palmaner is located on the National Highway 4 which connects Bangalore and Chennai. Being on the border of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Palmaner has a mixture of languages and cultures. In the year 2010 population was around 47000.
The East side of Palamaner has a Gantavoor village (famous for pottery works) and Anjaneya Swamy temple(famous for Vehicle Pooja), West side of Palmaner has a court, industrial area, Govt Silk market and form, live stock research station, Emmaus-Swiss Hospital and veterinary college. On the south side there is a Government college, school, and North side of Palamaner has Mother Teresa Degree college, Sri Saibaba Temple and Sainagar colony.
The KonetiRayala Swamy Temple ((Lord Venkateshwara)) is at Keelapatla village, which is said to be as old as the Tirupathi Temple. The Mordhana dam (project) is located on Tamil Nadu territory, about 20 km from Palamaner.

Palamaner is 192 km from Chennai, 136 km from Bangalore and 108 km from Tirupathi.
About 20 km southwest of Palamaner, there is a waterfalls called Kaigal Water Falls; it is via cattle farm (G.L.S Farm)-Baireddy Palli on the way of NH 219, there can get fresh honey in forest guest house, next to that Kaigal waterfall and Lord Siva Statue.
About 7 km to the south, is a lake called “Kalyana Revu”. Kalyana Revu was named after a myth where, Kalyani, a girl who could not succeed in her love, committed suicide in the lake. South of Kalyana Revu, there is the Ganganna Sirassu Waterfalls, a waterfall that drops from about 1,000 ft (300 m)on the way of Mandipeta koturu. This is one of the most beautiful places in this area.
Gantavooru is famous for pottery designing works and Lord Shaneswara temple, nine temples with good architecture around the temple and also 1 km distance from Gantavooru, Lord Anjaneya temple famous Vahanapooja, which is on the way of NH4 Highway.
KonetiRayala Swamy Temple - Keelapatla is one of the most famous historical temples that is located 8 km towards the northeast of Palamaner. Konetiraya Swamy is the deity of the temple. The statue of Konetiraya Swamy was found from the pond (Koneru) near the temple. The famous Telugu poet Annamayya has also written poems praising this God as (Kondalalo nelakonna koneti Rayudu vadu).
Cattle farm G.L.S Farm is famous for Cattle, which is maintained by government called Government Livestock Research Station (G.L.S FARM), Emmaus-Swiss (Switzerland) Hospital famous for leprosy in international wide, government ship project, Sri Venkateshwara Vetarnary College is in next to hospital and opposite the Ranganayana Palli village also situated in G.L.S Farm is it the second place in Andhra Pradesh, Ellamamba Temple, yearly celebrate Jatara in this temple in the first week of June of every year, around 40 villages celebrate this festival, which is situated on the bank of River called as Kaudinya, around that big forest contains Redwood trees.
Recently started Sri Venkateshwara Gosala, which is started by TTD Tirumala tirupati devasyam temples to get milk product for devotees and temple usage, will be started soon and alloted 500 acres (200 ha) here. Governmentt, high school and big school ground in 5Acres given by live stock research station, government guest houses and quarters for employees who working for live stock research station and ship project, they developed the temple called as Ellamamba temple and also RTO and other Checkposts giving support to temple on the stage of construction, RTO Check post, Exsice and civil checkpost on the way of NH4, it is the junction to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, here NH219 highway attached with NH4 highway it will connect to Krishnagiri, Salem.
Mogili is one of the Shiva temples also called Dakshina Kashi. The deity here is called Mogileshwara Swamy. The water flow from the mouth of nandi will not stop and flows 365 days.There is a Check Dam near Mogili which was built for the elephants to drink water.
There is a village called Panderupalli, Nagamangalam, Royalpeta,Marumuru,Kolamasanapalli,Bireddypalli,Ranganayana Palli, Geedumakula palli, kongollapalli, kannamakulapalli, Kurapalli all these villages belongs to Moram pancheyat 4 km from Palamaner which is very colorful and beautiful. It is a small village that contains limited population and is to the west of Palamaner. The entire village is surrounded by Mango gardens, Papaya, Banana trees, sugar canes, and Paddy fields and green crops, forests and tamarind trees etc. ZP High School, No of MPP Schools.
On the way of Ranganayana palli Emmaus hospital developed One big ground which is in 6 acres (2.4 ha), suitable to play cricket is a habit for every student who are studying in colleges and schools. The southern forest starts from this village and ends in Tamil Nadu border In the south direction and Karnataka border In the western direction. In that forest there is famous place called "Kaudinya River" is wonderful and beautiful, the flowing of water in rainy season is wonderful.
Palamaner is surrounded by valleys, hills, waterfalls and forests. The forest around the town is the only place in Andhra Pradesh with wild elephants. The forests of Palmaner have been declared as an elephant sanctuary, the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, by the Government of AP; assisted by the Government of India.
Palamaner is a starting spot for trekking in the forests spread 200 km around the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu which covers forest areas containing wildlife, waterfalls and hilly regions for rock climbing and river rafting.
The name "Palamaner" has originated from the name "Pallavan yeri". "Yeri" in Tamil means lake which was dug by Pallavan for the people living around this area.
On May 14 every year, people from different regions participate in a festival for blessings and well being from the holy deity "Gangamma". This holiday originated from a 1930s plague which prevailed in the region, taking thousands of lives. The local people believe that this plague was controlled by offering prayers in the form of Ganga Jatra. During celebration of gangajathara its believed that offering coconuts in thousands will result in fulfilling devotees wishes.
Contrary to popular beliefs, Nov 20 every year, is observed as a day of merry making and joy, in tribute to the birth of the demi-god "Dagga Mundeshwar". It is a symbolic day and is yet to be recognized as a public holiday.
The major investments are in dairy and poultry because the climate suits these businesses. There are many dairy and poultry farms that have come up in recent years. The town has a cattle farm which helps the breeding programs of the region.
The terracotta art pottery is an art of the soil of Palamaner. There is huge demand for the terracotta items in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab states of India. One can see the terracotta items of Palamaner in any of the art exhibitions and handicraft emporias in most of the cities in India.
Palamaner was popular for roof tile manufacturing for a long time.
The rural areas near Palamaner are famous for their silk production. The government has decided to set up a textile park in 500 acres (2.0 km2) of Palamaner.
Palamaner has a tomato commission market, where farmers from different parts of the district come to sell tomatoes. Every Friday, many farmers gather in the market area to sell vegetables, fruits, food grains, dry fish, household articles etc.
There are many small scale industries developing in and around Palamaner and the government is giving aid to develop such industries.
People in Palamaner speak telugu, Tamil and kannada languages.
The town has a mixture of Muslim and Christian communities apart from the majority Hindu population.
Palamaner has a 10+ Masjids, 10+ Mandirs (Temles) & 2 Churches in various Locations. Immanuel Gospel Ministries[Rev. Vedanayakam''], Calavary Chapel Trust[Pr. Zecariah''] and Church of South India under Diocese of Vellore with 150 years old Church building are some churches in Palamaner Old Pet. A Father's Bangalow is located south of palamaner near Govt. High School. Gangamma, Maremma, Saibaba and Venkateswara Temples are there in Palamaner.

MSR Educational Society:
This educational society is formed in memory of renowned academician Late M. SITA RAM (Ex. Principal- FAC Govt Jr. College Palamaner) by his students, friends and family members in 2001. It was registered in 2007(Regd 3 84/07).
Since its formation, the society has issued Certificates of Excellence for various students for their academic performance along with cash prizes at different schools and colleges across Chittoor district. Encouraging merit students and funding the poor (rural) students for their education, is the main objective of the organization.
The prime objective of this society is to encourage the students of Govt. schools and Junior colleges across the district.
Centre for Social Action Trust (1998): has established its presence in Palamaner Town and the adjoining Mandals of Gangavaram and Byreddipalli through various community initiatives for the rural poor. The major focus group of the Trust is disadvantged women and children in distress. In 2009, the Trust manages a special school for children with disabilities catering to over 130 children, promotes community organization process among rural women in 52 villages and helps over a thousand children under its education assistance programme. This makes CSA Trust one of the pioneering social work institutions of the region.
MASS - Mitra Association for Social Service:
The Non governmental organisation is promoting sustainable livelihoods among the tribal communities in Bangarupalyam, Palamaner and Baireddypalli mandals of the district. The NGO is run by a socially committed individual, Ms Sunanda and they are concentrating on livelihoods among tribals and non tribals, watershed developments, SHG promotion, Child rights and education.
Government Junior College in Palamaner is started in the year 1969 and having BIPC, MPC, CEC, HEC, HUC general courses and most useful and employment guarantee vocational courses Sericulture, Construction Technology, Automobile Engineering Technician, Computer Science and Engineering, Banking and Financial Services, Medical Lab Technician and MPHW (F) Nursing.
Women's Industrial School under the management of Church of South India Diocese of Vellore gives training to the poorest of poor girls in tailoring ,computer ,CROSS STICHES, nutrition to village women folk apart from health guidance.In short it is called WIS and is in existance for more than 75 years
