Padhrar

Padhrar is a village and union council (an administrative subdivision) of Khushab District located in Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is part of Khushab tehsil, the village of Padhrar is located at the beginning of the Soon Valley which leads to the mountain peak of Sakesar.

Geography

The village is located at equal distance of 55 km from two districts of Khushab and Chakwal. The Kalakahar lake Talagang is just 30 km away from this town. This is the last village of Khushab district moving from Sargodha-Khushab to Chakwal-Rawalpindi.

Religion

Most of Padhrar population is Sunni Muslim with a percentage of 80% while Shiite Muslims are 20% of the population respectivel .

Caste system and education

Almost 85% of Padhrar is Awan.5% are Hashmi/Qureshi and rest are other working class. The education level in Padhrar is increasing quickly every year with many of young generation going for higher studies in a very reputable institutions in Pakistan.There are scholars who are studying at MS and PhD level at different universities of Pakistan.Many students have gone abroad to pursue higher studies in different fields. On other hand the unemployment level in Padhrar is very low with a lot of people working for the Pak Army and coal mines.The main business in Padhrar is Poultry business and may have found jobs in this field.

Malik Muhammad Hassan Awan ( Owner of Awan Poultry Trading), Malik Muhammad Aslam Awan (DSP Motorway Police) Malik Nanbaz khan and Malik Mazhar hussain are prominent players of Cricket and volly ball from this village.

Livelihood

The people of the village are mainly connected with agriculture, Pakistan Army, poultry, government jobs and mining. Many people of the town contribute towards the economy of the country through the business of mining. This area is rich for high-quality coal, therefore the people of the town have invested heavily in this sector. This village has a historical graveyard of unknown age. Some say it dates back to the Mughal Period. The people of this village are known for their bravery and hospitality. It is a beautiful valley and just 30 km west of Kallar Kahar by road.Sargodha / Rawalpindi main road.
