PGi, or Premiere Global Services, Inc., is a multinational corporation and global provider of conferencing and collaboration solutions.[1] Its products include audio conferencing, web conferencing, videoconferencing and virtual meeting solutions. PGi provides global SaaS (Software as a Service) and cloud computing solutions to small, medium and enterprise businesses.

History

Premiere Technologies, Inc. was founded by Chairman and CEO, Boland T. Jones in 1991.[2] In February 2000, the company name was officially changed from Premiere Technologies to Ptek Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTEK) and in January 2005, the name was again changed to Premiere Global Services, Inc.[3][4] The company’s stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “PGI” and is included in the Russell 2000 Index.

The company's corporate headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia,[5] and PGi employs over 1,600 people in 24 offices around the world, including London, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, Paris, Auckland, Frankfurt, New York, Chicago, Clonakilty and Austin with an annual revenue of $441.8M USD as of 2010.

Brand History

In 2010, Premiere Global Services introduced PGi, its new brand identity, and announced a renewed focus on the people who use their products.[6] PGi embraced a new customer promise – to create products designed with people in mind.

  • iMeet® – virtual meeting product incorporating video conferencing and social media features for up to 15 people.
  • GlobalMeet – PGi proprietary web conferencing product with real-time integrated audio for online meetings for up to 125 people.
  • Conference Calling – PGi’s suite of audio conferencing solutions include reservationless conference call and operator-assisted large scale event calls.[7]

Legacy Products

  • PremiereCall Event – Dedicated operators greet and screen up to 3,000 participants with this audio meeting service designed to be used for large gatherings including investor relations meetings, press conferences and focus groups. A PGi proprietary product. Also referred to as Premium Hosted Events.
  • PremiereCall Auditorium – Retired in North America in 2010. Auditorium is still provided to the EMEIA & APAC markets.
  • PremiereCall Connection – Conference calling service that allows up to 30 participants to connect privately with full-service support. A PGi proprietary product.
  • ReadyCast – Former PGi product powered through a partnership with Cisco Webex. Retired in North America in 2010.
  • VisionCast – Retired in North America in 2010. Visioncast is still provided to the Asia-Pacific market.
  • PGiMeet Webcast – Rebranded as ON24 Webcasting in 2010. Product still used in some European and Asia-Pacific markets.
  • ConferenceAnywhere – Former feature of ReadyConference® Plus and GlobalMeet®, ConferenceAnywhere allowed users to instantly host a conference call via mobile device and was replaced with the launch of PGi Mobile in 2009.[9]
  • PGiSend – Former messaging business that included mobile printing, notification and reminders services, Fax2Mail and document delivery products. Sold to EasyLink Services International Corporation in 2010.[10]
