Ortal (Hebrew: אוֹרְטַל) is an Israeli settlement and a kibbutz in the northern Golan Heights which lies in the municipal territory of the Israeli Golan Regional Council. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.[1]
Ortal is one of the oldest and most established kibbutzim in the Golan, and is situated in the middle of the plateau, about 20 kilometers northeast of Katzrin.[2] Its vineyard produces chardonnay, cabernet, and merlot grapes, and is part of the Golan Winery.[3]
