OpCon is the job scheduler and IT automation product from Software & Management Associates (SMA).[1] Since its first release in 1995 it had been called OpCon/xps (OPerations CONtrol/Cross(X) Platform Scheduler). With the release of Version 5 in 2011, with a completely new user interface, SMA decided to rename the product to just OpCon.

OpCon/xps uses a Microsoft SQL Server database to store its data repository. The GUI is a fat client connecting to the database. A web-browser-based User Interface is also available. The agents are connected through TCP/IP to the central Schedule Activity Monitor, which in turn connects to the database[2].
Native-mode agents are available on these platforms:-.
Additionally, any platforms supporting Java 1.6 are supported.
