Technology Research & Consulting

Omnis, Inc. is a global consulting firm[1] with a concentration in the physical sciences, engineering, aerospace, defense, intelligence and finance.[2] The company works with those in government, academia and private industry. Charles A. Duelfer is a special advisor to the chief executive officer, Dr. Joseph E. Pesce, Ph.D.[3]

In 2008, Omnis recruited Wall Street professionals Christina Ray[4] and Jim Rickards [5] to develop a department in threat finance and market intelligence.[6] Rickards examines capital markets and derives market intelligence which is then used to advise clients about political instability and political risk that might affect markets or vice versa.[7]

On September 10, 2009, Rickards testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight Committee on Science and Technology about the risks of financial modeling, VaR and the 2008 financial crisis.[8]

Christina Ray is a quantitative finance expert and the author of several books, including the most recent one, Extreme Risk Management: Revolutionary Approaches to Evaluating and Measuring Risk. She is an expert on the creation of mathematical algorithms used to provide early warning of tactical and strategic threats. Her interests and focus of activities involve the fusion of risk measurement methods used by the Intelligence Community and the financial community in areas that involve low frequency, high consequence events. [9]

Omnis researchers are investigating a mystery painting by Nicolas Benjamin Delapierre known as "Portrait of a seated gentleman". The goal of the research is to determine both the identity of the subject and its provenance before 1928.[10]
