OS-CON
OSCON or OS-CON is a Sanyo trademark for their polymer capacitors. The name is used for polymerized organic semiconductor solid-electrolyte capacitors and conductive polymer capacitors with different chemistry.
Characteristics
- This type offers longer life at higher cost than standard (liquid) electrolytics. 50Khours life at 85 °C.
- Equivalent series resistance (ESR) is lower than electrolytic of same value, and stable under varying temperature, unlike standard electrolytics.
- Working voltage up to around 35 V.
Construction
- Cathode is aluminum foil.
- A separator sheet is impregnated with electrolyte.
- Anode is aluminum foil with an oxide layer.
Sandwich is rolled and assembled into a leaded can.
