Nýřany (Czech pronunciation: [ˈniːr̝anɪ]; German: Nürschan; Latin: Nirane) is a small town in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It lies 12 km (7 mi) to the West from the region's capital city Plzeň. Nýřany is town that represents Municipality with Extended Competences. According to day July 3 of 2006 the town had 6994 inhabitants.

History
The first written note about village Nýřany is from 1272. The status of town was given by emperor František Josef I. on January 29 of 1892. In 19th century there were discovered black coal deposits and new people arrived to the town. During 2nd World War the town of Nýřany was a part of Sudets.
