Northowram is a village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England that stands to the east of Halifax on the north side of Shibden valley. Southowram stands on the southern side of the valley.

The village was documented in the 19th century[1] as being in the parish of Halifax, 2½ miles north-east of Halifax and 6½ miles from Bradford. Its population at that point was 6841 and Northowram Hall was the seat of J.F. Dyson, Esq.

The village today has a total of twenty one shops including a newsagent's, a butcher's, a mini-supermarket, a cafe, a baker's, a florist's, two beauty salons, a barber's, two hair salons, a dry cleaner's, a chemist's, an art gallery, a sandwich shop, a fish and chip shop, a Post Office, a furniture shop, an optician's, a fancy dress shop and a farm shop.

The village also has three churches: a Methodist Church, a Church of England parish church, and a United Reformed Church. The village has a single school simply named Northowram Primary School.
