Watford North railway station serves the area; it is on the St Albans Branch Line.
The main bus routes which serve Watford and the surrounding area all pass down St Albans Road to get to the town centre from Garston bus garage. This means the area has very good bus links, including those from other towns such as St Albans by the 724, 321, 621, 622 and 320. There are also local bus routes 1, 8, 10 and bus W19 which servers the local housing estate. There is also the R8, 319 and R16 buses which serve Asda and Sainsbury's superstore.
The Dome Roundabout links the A41 with Watford. It also links Watford to the M1, M25 and North Circular Road. In the opposite direction, heading north east, lies St Albans. It houses a large supermarket and a hypermarket, both with large catchment areas. Also on the roundabout are 3 petrol stations. There used to be 4 until one closed down due to competition from the others. Garston Fire Station is also situated by the roundabout.
St Albans Road and its environs serves the community well through a variety of retail and leisure outlets - for instance newsagents, public houses, restaurants and a Post Office.
There are many buildings which form the skyline of North Watford. If one looks southwards towards Watford, the Harlequin Shopping Centre, the YMCA Tower and various residential newly built tower blocks are apparent.
When looking towards Garston one notices the Old Odhams Building and the Tower and Green Castle structure on top. You also notice the twin towerblocks in the Meriden Housing Estate.
