North Forsyth High School is a public high school located in Cumming, Georgia a suburb northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The school is located at 3635 Coal Mountain Drive, Cumming, Georgia 30041. It is 1 of 5 high schools in the Forsyth County School District, and serves students residing in Cumming, Georgia. It is the largest of all the Forsyth County high schools.

Student data

North has an approximate enrollment of 2,000 (as of Summer 2008). The student body is 90.77% White, 6.90% Hispanic, 0.65% Asian, 0.65% Black, 0.20 % Native American and 0.84% Multiracial.

Facility

Established in 1994 in the northwestern part of Forsyth County, the school has 2 gymnasiums, an artificial turf field used for football, soccer, and lacrosse, practice fields, baseball complex, softball complex, four tennis courts, and a separate performing arts center. The last addition to the school was in 2007. This addition created a whole new wing on the school.

Athletics/Extracurricular

North Forsyth currently competes in Region 6-AAAAA and has since 2010. North Forsyth High School has 15 varsity sports that allow both girls and boys to participate in.[1] The school fields junior varsity teams for most sports and freshmen teams in football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. The school is a member of the Georgia High School Association[2][3].

MCJROTC

The North Forsyth ROTC is based on the United States Marine Corps. North Forsyth's MCJROTC has been awarded National Naval Honor School 5 years in a row. As of the 2010-2011 school year, the Raider Battalion has 197 total cadets enrolled. The drill team has also been named Best in Service (Marines) at the American Legion National Drill Competition in Montgomery Alabama in February 2011 and also won 2nd place overall. The drill team was named Best in Service 4 out of the last 5 years. The drill team were also champions of the unarmed and armed divisions at the 2011 American Legion National Drill Competition.
