Nolambur is the fastest growing suburban in the western part of Chennai. It is near to the Poonamalli High Road near Maduravoyal.
Even though the only access road from the North is from Mogappair, Nolambur is located adjacent to Maduravoyal and Nerkundram.
Nolambur contains many large residential complexes that include Fomra Tribhuvan, Aishwaryam, Gokulam, Mithilam, Abhinayam, Citilights, Pacific city, SP Garden, VGN that have added about 5000 new families in recent years.
The basic infra-structure like the roads, sewage and drinking water are inadequate for the residents, residents in Nolambur are waiting for Chennai Corporation to take over the panchayat and bring in the amenities needed.

Mogappair is home to SDAT (Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu) Prince Tennis Academy and SDAT Dolphin Swimming Academy, and has hosted many State level tournaments and summer camps.[1]
