Nivedita Bhasin (born 1963) of Indian Airlines became the youngest woman pilot in world civil aviation history to command a commercial jet aircraft on 1 January 1990 at the age of 26. Capt Nivedita Bhasin piloted IC-492 on the Bombay-Aurangabad-Udaipur sector.

Personal life

Nivedita Bhasin was born in 1963 and got her license when she was 18. She is married to Capt Rohit Bhasin, who is a Senior Commander with Air India, and they have two children .

Bhasin is now a Captain on the Airbus A330-200 and is based in New Delhi.
